COVID-19 has taken the lives of many of our loved ones. Many of us felt the pain of helplessness when we realized our inability to arrange treatment in time. Uncertainty and fear of catching the virus, after taking many precautions, took a toll on the mental health of people.
Depression invited by overthinking to combat the virus that is an invisible enemy constantly kept us alarmed. The death of loved ones in such a situation added complexity. Depression caused by a loved one’s sudden death is difficult to tackle and overcome.
Through such situations, nature challenges us to change our perspective of seeing life. Otherwise, the endless worries, uncertainty, and fear of losing loved ones will consume us, and mental illness will destroy us faster than the virus.
There is a way to break through this situation and live a free life. In this article, I want to focus on that way. The course is to change our vision of life.
A Vision to See the Life
The presence of the soul in the body marks the existence of life in it. A soul is a form of energy. It is like electricity. When the soul or spirit is in us, we are alive. Our body retains heat like a wire that retains heat when electricity flows through it. When the soul leaves the body, it gradually loses heat and the ability to move, just like the wire that comes to average temperature after stopping the flow of electricity. And just like a machine that stops working without electricity.
The first law of thermodynamics states that “Energy can be changed from one form to another, but it cannot be created or destroyed.”1
This law gives a base to both the believers and non-believers of the afterlife philosophy to create a vision followed by an action to combat the grief of losing loved ones.
The soul that left us is a form of energy and energy cannot be destroyed but can be transformed into another state. This belief can help us realize the presence of our loved ones among us if it is followed by doing something very significant in their name to facilitate life on Earth.
For example, it can be the practice of placing a bowl of water and grains for birds or sowing seeds or planting a tree and watering it every day to see it growing with life energy. Or we can plan something big involving many people suffering from the loss of their loved ones.
Believers in the afterlife philosophy can read books to understand the concept of the soul and its relation to the Universe.
Those who partially believe in the afterlife philosophy can delve deep into knowing the secrets of creation through the philosophies that connect science to spirituality. Understanding the quantum world and quantum theories followed by understanding the soul or the ‘self’ can create a new perspective to visualize the ‘Self’ and its dynamic relation with the Universe.
Here science will be like a ship, and spirituality will serve as a compass to sail the ship to the island of a new vision to live a life connected with the whole of the Universe. Such life can be free of loneliness.
The whole idea is to shift our consciousness from the grief of losing a loved one to carrying out a practice based on a vision or making efforts to know our relationship with the rest of the creation, which can give our hearts and minds new ground to sow the seeds of peace in life.
